Charity, not wine-making, is the first passion of Dan Weiand's. He and his wife, Brenda, founded Giving 360 about 10 years ago. Operating in a building in New Hudson, the charity — which has operated on a word-of-mouth basis — receives items returned or unwanted by area stores and brings them to the warehouse. There, they bring people in need around to select items they need, with no questions asked. "The winery came out of this and the winery is going to support this," said Weiand, who lives in New Hudson. "Our goal is to help other causes." The Weiands donate $1.00 from each bottle sold at Whole Hearted Winery to Giving 360 to support those in need.
